Local Barber Gives First Haircut to His Surgeon Following Recovery

Back in the barber chair after urgent hernia surgery

In late December, Bill Rogner—known across Punta Gorda as “Captain Bill” of Captain Bill’s Barber Shop—went to the emergency room with severe pain from an incarcerated hernia that required urgent surgery. Following his operation and recovery with the surgical team at Charlotte Harbor Surgical, Captain Bill returned to work behind the barber chair in January.

Appropriately enough, his very first customer back in the shop was his surgeon, Dr. John F. Guarino, MD, FACS.
